Below are some out-takes from the session:
This is a shot that I took as we were getting ready to leave. This was not planned, but was completely serendipitous, as if mother nature and the Gods knew the whole of what I wanted to express that evening. Again, I cannot thank Abi and Omeid enough for perfectly expressing my vision. More to come soon….
I’m happy to announce that I’ve finally completed shooting on a project that I’ve been very anxious to do for some time. The final release of the image will be a surprise – I don’t want to give away too many details, but I will say that it’s a piece of work that holds tremendous meaning for me, personally. I think that a lot of people will be able to identify with it, as well. I was lucky to work with 2 very talented people, model Omeid Tizpa and makeup artist Abigail Steele.
Here are a few images from behind the scenes of the shoot that will come to be known as “The Uttermost Farthing”.
“Are they oblivious
To this quality?
A quality
Of light unique to
Every city`s streets.
Pavements may teem with intense energy,
But the city is calm in this violent sea”
- Rush, “The Camera Eye”

Self described “post rock dance music” group Sound Tribe Sector 9 (sts9) rocked The Depot in Salt Lake City on 25 Feb 2010.
The band has just released a new record, Ad Explorata, a collection of grooves and soundscapes.
The first 3 songs of the set came off rather tepid. The third song, which I believe was a new track from Ad Explorata, was the calm before the storm.
STS9 unleashed crowd favorites such as Metameme, Instantly, Moon Socket and Grow, and Arigato. As the band laid down these beloved grooves, the crowd moved in time – and brought a new understanding of the common moniker the band carries – “the tribe”.
STS9 is a band of trademark sounds.
Bassist David Murphy displays bass chops that are well versed in rock and jazz / funk styles.
When STS9s Wikipedia page, I was amused to find that most band members listed “laptop” among one of the instruments that they play. Continue reading »
